Team Rules & Guidelines

  A.   Academics

  1. Student-Athlete- our swimmers/divers are STUDENTS first ATHLETES second. 

  2. Varsity swimmers/divers will maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher. 

  3. Junior Varsity swimmers/divers will maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher. 

  4. If your swimmer/diver falls below the standard set, he will be put on two-week academic suspension. Swimmer/diver will practice and not compete for two weeks. Swimmer/Diver will be required to get a grade check signed by  ALL teachers on both Monday's of the two-week suspension. If swimmer/diver has shown improvement, as determined by Marshall, he will be allowed back on the team. You are allowed 1 two-week suspension any other academic issues will result in expulsion from the team. 

  5. If swimmer/diver is starting off below the academic standard set, he will begin on academic suspension. 

  6. Swimmers/divers that have zero period will not be required to attend morning workouts.

  7. Swimmers/divers that have to miss practice for a tutor session will need to let Marshall know 24 hours in advance.

 B.   Rules

  1. Be ON TIME!!!! Practice is from 3:15-5:30pm in the afternoon.

  2. Morning practice mandatory for Varsity- NO EXCEPTIONS unless you're a club swimmer/diver for another team and have been approved by me. Monday/Friday - 5:15-7:15am, Tuesday/Thursday - (weight room) 6:00-7:00am.

  3. Practice begins at 3:15pm. If you are late and haven't checked in 24 hours in advance, you're absent. Same requirements for morning workouts.

  4. Swimmers/divers missing workout must check in with Coach Marshall 24 hours in advance. No, after the fact excuses.

  5. Each swimmer/Diver is allowed to be absent four times throughout the season.

  6. On your fifth absence you will be expelled from the team. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

  7. If you miss practice on a "Meet" morning, you will be excused from the meet and be required to help time at the meet. On your second missed "Meet" morning, you will be expelled from the team.

  8. Varsity, all workouts and meets are mandatory. Junior varsity, mornings are optional but strongly encouraged.

  9. On Meet days, Marshall will handle excusing all the swimmers/divers from school.

  10. All swimmers/divers are required to help set up and break down after meets.

  11. Confrontations between teammates happen on occasion and will be handled on a situation-to-situation basis.

  12. Swimmers/divers will not leave the aquatic facility during home meets or away meets without permission. Swimmers/divers found on campus, away from the aquatics facility without permission, will be asked to leave the team.

  13. Swimmers/divers will come to practice daily prepared to swim with suit and goggles.

C.   Coordinating Rides

  1. I will email out a week in advance to parents and let them know how many swimmers/Divers need rides. 

  2. All parent drivers will need to fill out an additional insurance form provided by the school. Insurance form will be scanned and emailed out the first week of the season for all interested parties. 

  3. Swimming/Diving Boosters website - all practice and meet information, including meet recaps and scores.

We will have another parents only meeting the second week of the swimming season.  Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 6:00pm.  We can discuss how we will handle food for the swimmers and make sure all parents that are driving have their proper insurance forms filled out.
