Men's Swim Meets

The Alameda High Men's Swim Team, coached by Marshall Dortch, had one individual swimmer and 3 relay teams qualify for the North Coast Section meet this year. The meet was held at Concord Community Pool with trials on Friday, May 20th and finals on Saturday, May 21st. Swimmers with the top 40 times for each event were selected to swim. The top 16 swimmers in each event qualified for finals. Swimmers are limited to 2 individual events or 4 total events at this meet.

Junior Ben Krause qualified in the 200 IM and 500 free. In the 200 IM, he qualified in 38th place with a time of 2:04.19. In trials he moved to 16th place with a time of 1:58.69 and in finals swam a 1:57.19 to finish in 10th place. In the 500 free, Ben qualified in 24th place with a time of 4:54.10 and swam a 4:42.32 for 14th place in trials. He moved to 16th place with a final swim time of 4:52.91.

In the relays, the boys' 200 medley relay team (Evan Shum, Ben Krause, Curtis Fong and Jared Thompson) qualified in 25th place with a time of 1:43.89 and moved up to 21st place in trials with a time of 1:42.07. The 200 free relay team (Marcus Fong, Galen Lam, Bobby Ingram and Evan Shum) qualified in 36th place with a time of 1:34.89 and finished in 37th place with a 1:36.45. Finally, in the 400 free relay (Jared Thompson, Curtis Fong, Emile Siriot and Ben Krause) qualified in 30th place with a 3:27.12 and moved to 20th place in trials with a 3:20.25.
